Ouyang Matilda Sailboats
This site was originially built by Keith Denham, who sadly passed away in 2007. Keith also built and maintained the Aloha
Owners Association website (Keith owned an A28).
This site came about when Keith was doing some
research on the Matildas and couldn't find details of any Owners Association and
there was virtually nothing on the internet about the boats. He built this site to gather together the
information that came to light, and to which many owners have subsequently
added pictures or other details. Ouyang Boat Works of Whitby, Ontario, which went out of business in the late 1980's, is best known for producing the Aloha range of sailboats. However, in the early 1970's before and for a while after the Alohas were introduced, Ouyang made a number of Matilda 16, 20 and 23 boats. If you can add to or correct any of this information, or have any other comments, pleaseThere is an article on the History of Ouyang Boatworks on the Aloha Owners Association website. As well as the Matilda 20s produced by Ouyang in Canada, this model was built by other manufacturers in the UK, South Africa and Australia, and this is reflected in the distribution of boats which you will see in the Owners Listing. Thanks for visiting, and please check back from time to time to see if there are new items to view either on this website.
Please sign up for the Forum - since we do not publish owners email addresses on the site, the Matilda Forum
is the main means of communication between owners and a valuable source of information and advice.
